About me

Deborah G Blum (she/her) is the founder of Blum Counseling Group, a holistic and boutique-style counseling center in the heart of Hollywood, FL.
Born in São Paulo, Brazil, Blum had the privilege of growing up in a family that prioritized serving the needs of the community above all else. From a very young age, Blum was taught to think outside herself. Together with her mom and family, she spent many weekends preparing food and clothing baskets to drop off at neighboring hospitals and favelas, where many were worse off than herself. After moving to the United States, Blum knew in her heart she had a calling to continue helping people.
Blum earned her Bachelor’s in Business and Marketing from Florida Atlantic University before finishing her education at Barry University in 2016 with two Master’s Degrees, the first in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, and the second in Marital, Couple, and Family Counseling. To date she is board certified by the American Counseling Association and the National Board of Certified Counselors. Even before graduation, Blum spent many years volunteering with local non-profit agencies throughout South Florida, becoming an expert in grant writing and gaining knowledge in program development. Deborah is also active in Toastmasters and is a member of Chi Sigma Iota.
