Community involvement

Deborah Blum began volunteering more than 11 years ago with Miami Rescue Mission, a group dedicated to feeding Dade County’s homeless population, and then Habitat for Humanity, building homes for low-income families.

In 2017, Blum ventured out to begin her very own private practice, known today as Blum Counseling Group. Her group’s mission is the same today as it was when it was first founded: to transform and empower the lives of individuals, families, and couples by guiding them to overcome personal obstacles in their lives.

Blum has significant experience providing one-on-one holistic mental health care and spiritual guidance, and has ample experience working with individuals enduring emotional and domestic abuse, grief and loss, trauma, PTSD, and mood disorders. She has helped everyone from children, teens, and adults lead healthier and more productive lives through evidence-based and holistic treatment approaches.

In addition to being a full-time mental health care provider, she is currently also helping survivors of the recent Surfside building collapse. She assisted families as well as members of the channel 6 media team.
